REST – Maasvlakte

REST stands for Rotterdam EcO2 Service Terminal and comprises a complex of twelve gastight chambers for degassing of sea containers. The gasses involved are fumigants such as methyl bromide and phosgene used to fight insects in stock goods like groundnuts, cacao, and grains. PDE developed all the technical installations for degassing, gassing, filtering and heating and also prepared the environmental permit documents. The project is developed and built within 18 months by close cooperation between the engineering and construction teams.
